How it works
The tool compares the two calendar dates, not the clock times. Leave “Include end date” unchecked for the elapsed number of date boundaries; check it when both named dates should be counted.
Examples
- March 1 to March 8 is 7 days when the end date is excluded.
- March 1 to March 8 is 8 days when the end date is included.

Frequently asked questions
What does including the end date mean?
It counts both the starting date and the ending date. For the same date, that produces one day rather than zero.
Are leap years handled?
Yes. The calculation follows the Gregorian calendar, including February 29 in leap years.
Is this a business-day calculator?
No. Every calendar day is counted. For weekdays and an optional observed US federal-holiday policy, use the Business Days Between Dates tool.
