Hours Between Times

Find the elapsed time between two clock times. If an interval crosses midnight, you can mark the end time as the next day.

How it works

Enter the two times in 24-hour format. When the end is earlier than the start, the next-day choice is shown and selected; it remains your choice.

Examples

  • A workday from 09:00 to 17:30 lasts 8 hours 30 minutes.
  • A meeting from 14:15 to 15:00 lasts 45 minutes.
  • An overnight shift from 22:00 to 06:00 lasts 8 hours when the end is on the next day.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the next-day option appear?

It appears when the end time is earlier than the start time, which often means an overnight interval. You can still change the choice.

What time format should I use?

Use the native 24-hour time control. For example, 13:30 means half past one in the afternoon.

Does this include breaks?

It reports the elapsed interval between the two times. Adjust the input times yourself if you want to exclude a break.
